The Pelham School District’s Connect 2 initiative was created to foster the four C’s of creativity, critical thinking, collaboration and communication among our students and staff and to foster connections beyond school to the community and the world. In conjunction with our Future Ready Plan, we strive to create a personalized learning experience for students that prepares them for life. Currently, we are in the third year of 1:1. Students in grades 5-12 have access to a chromebook at home and at school. Students in grades K-4 have access to chromebooks in their classrooms. You can view information about the various chromebook models on the left-hand side of the page.
We are excited to send Chromebooks home this summer rather than collecting them during the last week of school. We realize that students sometimes have a need for them due to summer classes, online courses and other learning that continues when school is not officially in session. This will help our technology department as well. In the past, we have stored Chromebooks in a classroom and then have to reorganize to redistribute to students in the fall which is a time consuming process and with the middle school construction project our space is limited. By having students take home their Chromebooks, they will have them charged and ready to go on the first day of school when they are joining their google classrooms and signing up for their online textbooks and subscriptions. If your student is attending a different school in the fall, they will leave their Chromebook with their homeroom teacher or advisor.
Our IT help desk will be available throughout the summer for any repairs. If your student has an issue they can send a ticket to [email protected]. A technician will be in contact with a procedure for dropping off the Chromebook for repair.
